Optimal Web Browser Experience
For the best experience, we recommend using the most recent version of one of the following web browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
- Safari (on macOS)
Keeping your browser up to date ensures compatibility with accessibility features such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and zoom scaling.
Testing, Standards & Ongoing Improvements
To help identify and resolve accessibility issues, we use industry-standard testing tools, including automated accessibility checkers such as axe DevTools and assistive technology tools such as NVDA screen reader. These are used in combination with manual testing to evaluate real-world usability.
Currently, we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines to help facilitate and guide our understanding of how to make the database more accessible.
Accessibility Standards
Two VPATs are available upon request:
1. WCAG 2.1 version 2.4
Reported Levels: A & AA
2. WCAG 2.2 version 2.5REV
Reported Levels: A & AA
Commitment & Limitations
Due to the visual and map-based nature of geographic information systems (GIS), certain areas of the SimplyAnalytics interface may still present challenges for users who cannot interact with maps or other data-based visualizations.
To address this limitation, we have built an accessibility feature where users can have the underlying data and locations of any map or data visualization exported out into a spreadsheet.
In situations where full platform use is not feasible due to a disability, we will arrange direct 1-on-1 support to help retrieve data, export results, and deliver the necessary information in spreadsheet form.
This ensures that all users have equitable access to the underlying data and insights.
